Our client, a rapidly growing Natural Health Products company with their office located in Mississauga, ON , is looking to hire a Quality & Regulatory Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a Hybrid Role , requiring 3 days in the office for collaboration.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, this individual will oversee day-to-day quality assurance and regulatory affairs functions, lead the quality team, and ensure the integrity and continuous improvement of all quality systems and regulatory processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Oversee the change management process for existing products
  • Oversee the product quality release procedure
  • Develop finished product testing specifications by working cross-functionally with internal and external partners.
  • Maintain version control of all quality documents
  • Manage allergen risk assessments with co-manufacturers
  • Qualify new vendors and maintain vendor compliance records
  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Labeling & Artwork

  • Review product artwork for regulatory compliance
  • Create and validate label text for dietary supplements (NHPs) and food products
  • Review and approve product claims and advertising
  • Provide Regulatory compliance risk assessment strategies
  • Licensing & Regulatory

  • Prepare and submit Product Licence Applications (NHPs)
  • Ensure site licenses are renewed according to the company renewal cycle.
  • Act as the main contact with CFIA / Health Canada for regulatory issues
  • Testing & Investigations

  • Oversee product testing schedules, and identify correct test methods depending on product type
  • Oversee stability and shelf-life studies
  • Regularly review customer complaints for trend analysis
  • Lead non-conformance and deviation investigations with manufacturers.
  • Leadership and Continuous Improvement
  • Supervise and support the quality team by fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Lead in continuous improvement initiatives for quality programs
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable quality and regulatory standards
  • EDUCATION :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field.
  • EXPERIENCE :

  • 5+ years of Quality and Regulatory experience in the food, beverage or supplements sectors, with 1 – 3 years experience at the Manager level
  • Quality or Regulatory experience with natural health products (NHPs)
  • Strong knowledge of Food GMP, SOPs in the food & beverage industry
  • In depth understanding of Health Canada and CFIA regulations (NHP / Food)
  • Experience with change control systems, artwork review, and product testing protocols
  • Previous involvement in CFIA inspections, or product recalls an asset
  • Working knowledge of ERP or quality management software an asset
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • SKILLS :
