Job Summary

This position is responsible for reviewing and understanding plans and specifications, and ensuring completed work meets the stated requirements. Located at the Woodstock, Ontario plant, this is a position that requires diligent compliance to safety regulations.

As the Quality Control Inspector, the ideal candidate must be able to read and interpret shop drawings, be detailed, and focused on the task at hand while managing priorities and deadlines. In general, this is a position where guidelines, structure, and established procedures must be followed closely.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and read engineering drawings, unit drawing, layouts
  • Inspect formwork, reinforcement, and casting of pre-cast concrete structures for bridge girders, wall panels and parking garage components, according to building codes, drawings and specifications
  • Monitor the manufacturing process for quality and compliance to design and specification requirements
  • Inspect finished concrete product components to ensure the quality meets engineering design and project requirements
  • Monitor and perform all concrete tests at plant and on site, as required
  • Complete lab testing and calibration requirements
  • Collect and test raw materials
  • Note and report work that does not meet design requirements
  • Create and complete project reports; Pre-Pour, post-pour, stressing reports, NCR reports
  • Control and maintain project records including engineering drawings, project reports and material test reports
  • Proactively suggest improvements to current processes
  • Implement approved corrective actions when required
  • Work together with engineering and drafting departments to review project and design requirements
  • Communicate effectively with all departments including internal and external customers.
Technical Requirements
  • Civil Technologist or Civil / Engineering Technology diploma or related field
  • Experience in a related Quality Control position
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/shop drawings
  • Willingness to pursue ACI/PCI certifications
