Overview

Cardinal Health, with over 1300 employees in Canada, is an essential link in the Canadian healthcare supply chain, providing over 70,000 products to healthcare facilities and medical professionals across the country.

Cardinal Health is seeking a positive and experienced individual to join our Gananoque Manufacturing plant as a Quality Assurance Technician for weekend work on a 12-hour shift. It is a 36-hour workweek compensated at 40 hours.

Reporting directly to the Lab Supervisor, this position is responsible for the acceptance and rejection of manufactured product, including the production of subassembly and finished products based on product specifications and procedures. The Quality Assurance Technician also supports testing for complaints, non-conformance investigations and changes to support production and the facility.

Hours: Shifts will run from 11am - 11pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Location: Gananoque, Ont

Responsibilities
  • Performs varied product inspections or analysis of finished goods components, incoming materials or new products, by observing, measuring and recording data using applicable measurement tools
  • Compiles and inputs data, documents and process findings and interprets results
  • Completes applicable documents needed for the release of product to the field
  • Demonstrates knowledge of testing methods, product usage, and applicable procedures according to regulations, and standards and adheres to established policies and procedures but also participates in the establishment of future inspection procedures
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required. One-year diploma in a science related field preferred or equivalency with 3-5 years’ experience
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and equipment
  • Basic Statistical Process Control (SPC) skills and statistical sampling methods
  • Strong computer skills; Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab
  • Willingness to develop a good working knowledge of all Gananoque manufactured products including product development, complaint processing, raw materials verifications, sterile products procedures
  • Willingness to work towards a Certified Internal Auditor qualification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory and ISO standards
  • Experience in training, Train the Trainer certification preferred
  • Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
  • Strong understanding of GMP, Health Canada regulations, and industry standards
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, multitasking and decision-making skills
