Job description

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 12 Diploma, or equivalent, with 2-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Knowledge of MRP systems
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Detail-oriented and quick learner
• Team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Effective communicator who can inspire confidence among supervisors, peers, and subordinates

Key Responsibilities

• Purchase materials for production, engineering, and other departments via purchase orders
• Source materials, negotiate prices, delivery, specifications, and quantities with suppliers
• Manage planned orders with start dates on or before the current date, based on planner IDs
• Review Exception Reports to ensure orders meet current requirements and update POs as needed
• Ensure PO dates in MAX reflect current agreements and address any overdue orders daily
• Process Internal Product Requests (IPR)
• Contact suppliers regarding discrepancies in shipments or pack slips and initiate corrective actions when necessary
• Coordinate with material handlers or warehouse for deliveries and manage stock levels accordingly
