Job description

The Town of Wasaga Beach is now accepting resumes for Summer Public Works Labourer Supervisor(s). This is a great opportunity to work outdoors, gain hands‑on experience, and contribute to keeping our community clean and beautiful.

Position Overview
  • Guidance of other labourers
  • Collecting roadside and beachfront litter
  • Emptying garbage and recycling bins
  • Inspecting storm catch basins, outlets, ponds, and trail systems
  • Assisting with tree and brush clean‑up
  • Painting fire hydrants, sewer stacks, sign posts, and building structures
  • Supporting beachfront clean‑up and municipal road maintenance
  • Performing other Public Works‑related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to those registered in a full‑time secondary/post‑secondary program in the next academic year
  • Strong public relations & communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in providing direction to staff
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays;
  • Physically capable of performing manual labour, including heavy lifting and working in all weather conditions
  • Experience in roads maintenance activities and ability in using hand tools is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the Town of Wasaga Beach is an asset
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification preferred
  • Valid Class “G” Ontario drivers’ license preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with initiative and a great attitude
  • Able to provide a satisfactory criminal record check and drivers’ abstract upon hire

Hourly Range: $21.71 - $23.48; 40 hours/week
