Job summary

A municipal organization in British Columbia is seeking an Information Officer on a full-time temporary basis. The role involves assisting in the efficient operation of the RCMP Community Police Office through a variety of clerical and investigative tasks. The ideal candidate must possess Grade 12 education along with a post-secondary program in Criminology. Strong knowledge of the Criminal Code and ability to establish effective relationships with the community and department officials are essential. Salary is set at $43.25 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of Grade 12 education plus one year post secondary program in Criminology.
  • Sound knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada and other relevant statutes.
  • Ability to maintain required security clearance for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist management for the RCMP Community Police Office operation.
  • Perform clerical and receptionist duties.
  • Process exhibits and complaints from the General Public.

Skills

Sound knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada
Sound knowledge of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act
Knowledge of law enforcement/court procedures
General typing skills
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Interpersonal skills
Ability to obtain security clearance
