A public health agency in Sault Ste. Marie is seeking a Public Health Nurse for a temporary full-time position to improve health outcomes for diverse communities. Responsibilities include administering immunizations, conducting community assessments, and collaborating with health partners. Applicants must hold a nursing degree, and current CPR certification, and possess strong communication skills. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in population health and requires travel throughout Algoma.

Vacancy Status: This is atemporary full-time vacancy to cover an employee leave. This position is expected to last up to 12 months.
The PHN works in collaboration with internal and external partners to improve the health and well-being of the population (i.e. children, families, youth, and adults) in our communities. The PHN and the teams use knowledge of healthy growth and development, school health, healthy behaviours, community wellness, infectious diseases, evidence informed practice and the assessment of the community to plan health promotion and prevention initiatives. Programs and services will be delivered using relevant guidelines and protocols and the PHN will work in their full scope of practice.
Activities may include home visits, school and child care visits, clinical services, population health approach, community assessment, collaboration and meaningful community engagement.
