Job description

Our Client, a Manufacturing Conglomerate, is looking for multiple Prototype Assemblers for their Cambridge, ON location.

Responsibilities
  • Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of developmental requirements in pre-production projects.
  • Works from rough schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.
  • May perform rework and quality testing.
  • Work typically includes interaction with development and/or manufacturing engineering personnel.
  • Frequently interacts with peers and customers to exchange or present factual information. Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgement in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.
  • Uses mechanical and electrical drawings in addition to other required support documents, i.e., point‑to‑point, wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, pick lists and bills of material, Cambridge Specific Procedures and Documented Work Instructions, to assemble and wire across multiple product lines.
  • Troubleshoot unusual assembly and/or wiring problems and occasionally make design change recommendations.
  • Accurately report task and times in Factory Talk Production Centre (FTPC) related to work orders and Critical to Quality (CTQ’s).
  • May be required to assist, instruct and provide training to other employees.
  • Participates in activities to increase job knowledge, including required training and certifications, job rotation programs and training and coaching of other employees.
  • Participate in Behaviour Based Safety Training and contribute to the program.
  • Participate in LEAN/Six Sigma Training and contribute to and make recommendations for process improvements and LEAN activities.
  • Performs work in accordance with job‑specific training procedures, follows work aids (DWIs, prints etc.,) and produces work that consistently meets quality standards.
  • Ensure tasks are conducted in accordance with applicable employment, environmental, health, safety, quality, and legislation and or regulations (federal, provincial, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, etc.), as well as Client Automation policies and procedures, 5S requirements and standards of business conduct.
  • Creates an optimal work environment by establishing and maintaining positive and respectful work relationships.
  • All other duties as required and assigned by supervision.
