Forbes Bros Ltd. is currently seeking a highly motivated Project Manager III (full-time, permanent) to join our operations team in Ontario providing support in the Niagara region. This role will require regular travel to the project location(s).
The Project Manage r III will be responsible providing overall guidance and management to one or more construction projects and ensuring compliance with client requirements. Additionally, the Project Manager will assume a leadership role and oversee and provide guidance for internal requirements for safety, quality, schedule, and cost for all assigned projects. The successful candidate will have prior experience in linear construction and demonstrate strong understanding of project management processes and execute leadership skills with the ability to analyze data and provide professional judgement and solutions.

Key Responsibilities :
Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every dayObtains technical guidance required to support Project technical issues and provides guidance to field teams as requiredEnsures distribution of field quality proceduresPrepares and submits Requests for Information and similar documents to obtain response to technical questions from Client and / or EngineerPrepares and transmits submittals required for approval of technical issues, vendor documents, and material informationEnsures Project quality requirements are incorporated into field installation requirementsTracks and collects quality documents and records of correction of field quality issuesTracks costs for assigned Projects and analyzes costs with support from othersPrepares and updates Project Schedule based on input from construction supervisionPublishes schedules as required for Client and / or Company including narrative explanation of schedule with support from othersPrepares budgets based on Project estimate and inputs into Company ERM software systemPrepares cost forecast for assigned Projects and develops plans for improvement with support from othersReads, reviews, and understands Client Contract content and requirements with support from othersCommunicates with Client concerning changes in Contract scope or terms with goal to obtain appropriate Contract Change OrderNegotiates with suppliers and subcontractors for the benefit of the Company and Project within limits of authorityTracks and expedites supplier technical submittals and delivery and ensures review and approval of all subcontractor submittals according to subcontract requirements.Prepares and publishes required Project reports which may include daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.Reviews supplier and subcontractor requests for change order for accuracy and compliance with terms of the agreement.Rejects or provides / obtains approval after review and implementation of any correctionsSchedules and may host regular Project review meetings including Project Kickoff and Closeout Meetings and publishes meeting minutes for applicable meetingsEnsures implementation of Project plans for HSE, Quality, overall execution, cost management, change management and other areasTracks and manages overall changes in the Project. Acts to prevent potentially negative HSE, quality, cost, schedule, etc. impacts to Company and ProjectReports changes to Company or other Departments as requiredOther projects & duties as assignedWhat We Are Looking For :
Three (3) + years' experience in a field involving linear construction, civil and / or industrial, is required . Electrical transmission or pipeline and / or industrial construction, is preferredKnowledge of main construction office processes; project set-up; subcontract management; change orders; RFI's; closeout, sub-scopes and sub-trades, is requiredPost-secondary education in Construction Management, Project Management, or an engineering discipline related to the company's work is preferred . A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.Proven experience with providing direction and managing multiple concurrent projectsCommunicates effectively with all levels of management and industry contactsProficient with Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project and Primavera P6Able and willing to travel to and work in remote project locations, embedded in operational work groupsHave and maintain a valid driver license and acceptable give (5) year drivers abstractAs per client requirements, candidates to comply with pre-access Drug & Alcohol testing to access certain project sites
