Our Pinawa, Manitoba location is seeking a Project Manager to oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring objectives are met and value is delivered to stakeholders. The role emphasizes safe work execution and completion within scope, timeline, and budget constraints.
What will you be doing
- Managing the personnel performing the scope of work.
- Implementing project management to plan, control, and monitor the execution of all project work.
- Providing detailed reporting and communications on project status, with emphasis on resolving issues and correcting variances to plans.
- Maintaining budget responsibility for work ranging from $2M to $20M annually.
- Managing the cost, schedule, scope, and technical performance of a project or portfolio of projects within the Whiteshell (WL) Restoration Project.
- Applying the Decommissioning Quality Assurance (QA) Program requirements and its supporting procedures in project activities.
- Initiating and maintaining productive relationships with internal service providers.
- Ensuring appropriate execution of the WL Closure contract and overseeing management of contracts to deliver projects.
- Enforcing management expectations regarding safe work practices, consequences of non-compliance, and performance management issues.
- Ensuring WL Restoration Project work is performed safely and in compliance with Site License and Facility Authority requirements.
- Maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, or related field. And/or professional certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management, including leading Project Management teams and/or Project Portfolios.
- Experience in decommissioning, site remediation, construction, and/or other highly regulated industries is highly desired.

- Skilled in facilitating discussions and meetings that promote open communication in identifying potential safety issues early and addressing them promptly.
- Effective in mentoring and coaching team members, helping them understand the importance of safety.
- Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), with a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's Standard on Security Screening and Policy on Government Security.
Working Conditions
- Must possess normal physical agility to perform all aspects of the work, including bending, lifting, and mobility.
- Must be capable of wearing and working in protective clothing, respirators, and using equipment as required.
- The Project Manager role is both office and field-based and requires occasional travel.
- Office work environment with some exposure to nuclear radiation and industrial hazards during construction/demolition site visits.
- Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures ranging from +30°C to -40°C.
- A compressed workweek is in effect: four days, ten hours per day, starting at 6 am.
