Role Responsibilities
- Manage and understand all project‑related details to ensure tasks are completed to Descon’s and its customers’ satisfaction.
- Use organizational tools to effectively manage multiple projects, including scheduling, budgeting, status reporting, and final customer sign off.
- Track and manage project timelines, communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on schedule.
- Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks to locate, review, and update project related information; develop expertise in the layout details of assigned projects.
- Provide support to ensure the successful delivery of projects and site services as required.
- Maintain a strong understanding of contractual obligations related to projects and site services to ensure accurate customer billing.
- Attend customer job sites as required.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Descon’s purchasing, spare parts, quoting, and project database systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Descon products, suppliers, customers, and competitors.
- Motivate cross‑functional teams and onsite crews to deliver high‑quality results efficiently.
- Review project details and drawings with Descon’s engineering teams and participate in project conceptualization and execution.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Project Management is an asset.
- Proven experience managing projects from initiation through completion.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) and Microsoft Office/Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings is an asset.
- Ability to develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Strong risk management and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder and client‑facing communication.
- Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage competing priorities.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
- Experience tracking project performance, reporting status, and managing change requests.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing requirements.
- Knowledge of contract management and vendor coordination is an asset.
- PMP, or similar project management certifications are an asset.
- Willingness to travel on short notice; must hold a valid passport, driver’s license, and have no travel restrictions to the USA.
- Previous experience in a client‑facing role within the food and beverage packaging industry is considered a strong asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years of project management experience, preferably within a manufacturing, packaging, or industrial environment, is required.
