Overview

Do you enjoy interesting projects, taking ownership and working with a great team? Lakeview Electric Ltd is seeking a Project Estimator to join our team in Dartmouth. Our job sites are located throughout HRM and surrounding areas, working on residential and commercial projects. As we grow – you grow, with opportunities for career growth and professional development within the company.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret building specifications, blueprints, and as-builts.
  • Use mathematical and analytical skills to produce estimates on labour, equipment, and material.
  • Understand scope of work and what to include/exclude in bids.
  • Assist Project Managers or Estimators with estimates and change order management.
  • Create project schedules and scopes of work after estimation.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Be detail oriented, accurate, and precise.
  • Act as an active listener with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attend project meetings or site walkthroughs.
  • Help resolve technical issues as they relate to the projects.
  • Perform general administrative tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by the company.
Qualifications
  • Experience with construction estimating; one (1) year preferred.
  • Great attitude and the ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • A valid driver’s license.
