Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) is implementing a multi-year Facilities Redevelopment Master Plan to facilitate building a regional system of care that will meet the growing needs of the local community, expected to grow to 1 Million by 2050, and provide care closer to home for decades to come. Led by the Vice President, Redevelopment, the Redevelopment Team plans, designs, and implements all components of the Master Plan, including a new hospital site in Waterloo, renovations and expansions of existing sites, and ongoing care delivery across WRHN sites.
New employees must provide documentation of COVID-19 vaccination status, a 2-step TB test, and proof of immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella prior to start. Clearance from Employee Health, Safety and Wellness is required before beginning any position at WRHN.
Position Summary
WRHN’s Redevelopment Team seeks a seasoned leader with extensive FF&E planning, capital and redevelopment equipment planning experience within the acute care hospital sector. The role provides leadership and manages FF&E requirements for all redevelopment projects across WRHN sites, accountable for FF&E planning throughout the project lifecycle. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in supporting major capital development projects and a solid understanding of clinical processes and functional requirements.
The Project Director, FF&E oversees strategic asset planning and management for clinical and non-clinical equipment and furniture. The role operates within DBFM equipment relationships and may involve MES or traditional models, and collaborates with planning, design, ICAT, transaction and construction, clinical operations, and communications teams. Reporting to the VP, Redevelopment, this position leads FF&E planning from planning and design through procurement documentation, cost estimating, scheduling, integration with the main project schedule, and scope control, coordinating with multiple departments to maintain inventory levels, mitigate risks, and align with organizational needs.
Insight into FF&E integration in PSOS and RFP development is essential.
