Dumont Technical Institute, a division within the Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research, invites applications for the following position:

Responsibilities
  • Provision of supports and guidance to Métis students who are not actively engaged in post-secondary as well as support students who are completing or have completed programming through Dumont Technical Institute.
  • Relationship building, liaising with community partners and other organizations.
  • Report composition, administrative and clerical support as required.
  • Travel will be required to outlying areas; a valid driver’s license is needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work plus two years of client support experience. Consideration will be given to Bachelor’s degrees in Education, Humanities, or Social Sciences or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive understanding of Métis culture, barriers to education and the labour market for Métis and Aboriginal people is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adaptability and the ability to work with people from various equity groups.

Term: November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026
