Job Summary
The Production Supervisor for PrimeWall is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations for large format insulated aluminum wall assemblies complete to windows, doors, and cladding complete, which are produced through manual processes. This role ensures production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are met while leading and developing a skilled team in a precision-driven environment. The supervisor coordinates labor, materials, and workflows across aluminum framing, glazing, cladding, and finishing stations.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
- Supervise day-to-day manual assembly activities for aluminum wall systems.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet project timelines and shipping commitments.
- Monitor workflow and labor efficiency to optimize throughput.
- Ensure materials, drawings, and tools are available before production starts.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, logistics, and project management teams.
Quality Control
- Ensure all assemblies meet engineering drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Enforce quality checkpoints during framing, glazing, and cladding processes.
- Identify non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and defects.
Health & Safety
- Enforce all plant safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe manual handling of aluminum components and glass.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and supervise production staff, including leads and assemblers.
- Assign tasks and balance labor based on skill level and workload.
- Conduct performance reviews and support employee development and training.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work culture.
Reporting & Communication
- Track daily production metrics (output, labor hours, scrap, rework).
- Provide regular production updates to plant leadership.
- Maintain clear shift handover communication.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; technical diploma or trade certification preferred.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in curtain wall, window wall, or aluminum glazing systems.
- 2+ years of supervisory or lead-hand experience in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of aluminum wall assembly and glazing methods.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and production documentation.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is an asset.
