Job Summary

The Plant Supervisor, under the direction of the Production Manager, will primarily be responsible for ensuring that plant processes and timelines are met in a manner that is both safe and consistent with the goals of the company. This position will ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. This role will also ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic cross-training, assignment of duties, discipline, and dismissal. The Plant Supervisor will be proactive in looking for opportunities for continuous improvement and focus on finding new ways to make the environment more efficient.

Responsabilities

  • Ensure safe work practices and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with legislation.
  • Handle employee complaints, incidents, and investigations under HR guidance.
  • Monitor and approve timecard entries for payroll accuracy.
  • Approve and manage vacation schedules to ensure coverage.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and development to Production Lead Hands and staff.
  • Administer disciplinary actions and document situations per company policy.
  • Manage and monitor work orders and direct workflow on the shop floor.
  • Oversee staff performance to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Determine production scheduling in conjunction with Production Manager, the Production Office Supervisor and the Production Lead Hands.
  • Ensure employees have clear goals and expectations.
  • Participate in site and workplace inspections.
  • Liaise with other departments and shifts to align priorities.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Foster a positive work environment and celebrate team successes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates, the base pay range for this position is $66,414 to $77,143 per year. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 5% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is discretionary.
