We specialize in cover design, formatting and typesetting, e-Book design and validation, professional editing services, custom book printing, and beyond. We take our clients' concepts from manuscript to market, ensuring the final product is an expertly designed self-published book that excels in a modern market.

We are seeking a Production Manager / Book Designer to manage production on book design projects. The Production Manager / Book Designer will work directly with clients to ensure final deliverables meet the highest standards across print and digital platforms.

More About This Role

• Manage book projects from handoff through final production
• Prepare and design book interiors and covers using Adobe CC (InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator; bonus : Premiere Pro & After Effects)
• Oversee print production requirements, ensuring files are to spec for platforms like Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and Draft2Digital
• Creating and designing EPUB files using Calibre, including both fixed layout and reflowable ebooks
• Validate EPUB files (EPUB 2 & 3), ensuring compliance (W3C / IDPF validation, Pagina EPUB check), and vendor-specific requirements
• Collaborate with authors and clients by hosting calls to guide them through the production process
• Balance multiple projects and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality

• Actively reads and loves books
• Has a strong book design portfolio demonstrating layout and cover design skills
• Experienced in print production and digital publishing workflows
• Knowledge of HTML / CSS; bonus if you're comfortable with JavaScript and accessibility standards

Please note, remote work requires the candidate to have their own capable workstation, which demands a computer capable of handling multiple projects, simultaneously.

Occasionally, in-person meetings or training sessions will be coordinated within the GTA.

Pay : $51,846.06-$65,000.00 per year
