Position Summary

The Production Controller oversees all expedition & shortage management requirements in the Victoria manufacturing facility. This includes AOG (Aircraft on Ground) orders, late or critical sales orders, parts for special projects, and shortages for internal assembly lines. The Production Controller will also work with the internal DHC team on finding alternate solutions for problematic parts along with supporting a team of Production Planners.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Execute and maintain Viking’s manufacturing expedite & shortage process in line with defined procedures and policies.
  • Maintain manufacturing priorities in the ERP system.
  • Liaise between internal departments on urgent requirements and shortages.
  • Provide support for internal customers on prospective manufactured parts.
  • Communicate jig/line stop requirements to manufacturing and procurement teams.
  • Provide guidance to Configuration Management on part planning attributes.
  • Assist management in developing production plans.
  • Support estimating and quoting activities.
  • Support the team of Production Planners.
Skills & Experience
  • 2+ years planning, scheduling, or administrating in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Computer skills to competently interact with an ERP system, manage Microsoft Excel worksheets, draft formal emails, and digitally sign-off documents.
  • Communication skills must be sufficient to adequately convey detailed technical information in an English-speaking work environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings is preferred.
  • Experience working within a Quality Management System is preferred (AS9100, ISO9001).
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes is preferred (assembly, machining, sheetmetal).
  • Aviation industry experience is preferred.
