Overview

The Production Assistant reports directly to the Production Manager and is primarily responsible for assisting / finishing of various wide-format specialty printing products. This position supports quality control, fast turn-around times, high-quality output, and efficient use of materials to minimize waste.

What you get to do

• Receive, process, and maintain orders for large format finishing.
• Mount printed media to substrates.
• Laminating large format printed graphics.
• Trimming and cutting.
• Packaging and shipping.
• Prioritize work based on customer needs, workload, and machine capabilities.
• Laminating, trimming, and custom cutting digital print products as required.
• Evaluate product and adjust to maintain a good level of quality.
• Troubleshoot problems that occur during job submission or the printing process.
• Inspect finished work for quality, accuracy, count, and sizes.
• Perform minor maintenance such as cleaning, replenishing consumables, replacing filters, and waste containers.
• Gather, organize, and wrap completed work for delivery to customers or the next department.
• Report mechanical failures to the Production Manager or Branch Manager.
• Work overtime when necessary.

What we are looking for in your background

• 2+ years’ experience in large format finishing (signage, posters, window graphics, etc.).
• General knowledge of equipment and materials used in large-format printing and mounting.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and resourcefully with minimal oversight.
• A keen eye for detail.
• Ability to communicate job-related information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is not mandatory but is an asset.
