ANDRITZ’ Feed & Biofuel division in Blenheim, ON, seeks a skilled Mechanical Technologist or Engineer looking to make an impact in a manufacturing environment. In this role, you will support the development of our Non-OEM Capital and Parts portfolio by contributing to product improvement projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and assisting with engineering initiatives. Working in close collaboration with engineering hubs, product management, and sales teams, you will help deliver solutions that meet customer needs, improve product performance, and strengthen our regional business.

What You Will Be Doing

Here’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:

  • Support the development and management of the Non-OEM Capital and Parts portfolio in alignment with the Regional and Global BITS organization, in collaboration with Regional Sales and Service.
  • Apply industry standards (ISO / ANSI / OSHA / EN, etc.) to machinery design.
  • Follow product management procedures and guidelines in accordance with the Quality Management System.
  • Prepare detailed 3D and 2D design according to specification and agreed timelines.
  • Drive data quality for product BOM (Bill of Material) and drawings.
  • Address customer claims and handle A-parts non-conformities from production hubs.
  • Create machine design based on customer needs, or based on the calculation outputs and guidance from R&D /Technical Lifecycle Managers.
  • Collect and maintain all documents related for legal obligation to achieve required CE marking and ATEX.
  • Develop/Maintain/Update risk assessment according to latest relevant standards.
  • Ensure that the Technical Dossier and related documentation are kept up to date with all necessary product information.
  • Actively participate in creating design Failure Mode and Effect Analyses.
  • Manage order handling according to promised lead time for Engineering order execution.
  • Participate in customer meetings to understand and capture their needs.
  • Close collaboration and support across all departments, especially to Product Management, Technical Lifecycle Managers, Sales, Project Management, etc.
  • Update/maintain factory acceptance test (FAT) procedure in close cooperation with QHSE and Technical Lifecycle Managers.
  • Actively participate in the Product Engineering management team meetings and contribute to common initiatives.
  • Contribute to the overall Engineering strategy.

What We’re Looking For

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor).
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of materials science and their applications in manufacturing.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, heat treatment, and assembly.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and legal requirements related to machine design (OHSA, CSA/ANSI standards, etc.).
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g. ISO).
  • Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools.
  • Basic understanding of automation principles and mechanical failure analysis.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (domestically and internationally) for customer, vendor, or plant support; valid driver’s license and passport required.
