Job description
Position Overview

We are searching for a Software Engineer to join us in developing the next-generation, AI-powered architecture design product. Our teams work on everything from complex 3D drawing on the web to building machine-learning-based real-time analyses. Your contributions will have a direct impact on shaping our offering. It will enable our users to discover smart, sustainable solutions and gain valuable insights in their projects.

We are on a mission to help design better cities. According to the United Nations, more than 90% of future population growth will happen in cities. The construction industry is responsible for 40% of global CO2 emissions. To respond to this trend and combat climate change, the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry needs to change the way they work. We are building the new generation of cloud-based software tools that will drive this change in AEC. Our tools help architects, urban planners, and real estate developers find the smartest and most sustainable ways to unlock the potential of their projects. We focus on enabling outcome-based design through assessing living quality (sun, daylight potential, noise, etc.), environmental impact (embodied and operational carbon), and profitability of our users\' projects.

Responsibilities
  • You will be able to apply and grow your engineering skills to make our products better and more impactful for our users
  • You will get to work with a wide range of technologies, including web-based frameworks, large-scale systems, and cloud computing
  • You will work on exciting challenges, surrounded by fun, highly engaged people
  • You are willing to share what you know and learn as you go
  • Thrives in an autonomous culture
  • Deep experience with programming languages and technologies
  • Enjoys breaking complex tasks into smaller pieces
  • Motivated by our mission and driven by impact
  • Ability to adapt and grow in an engaging environment
  • Operationally focused in professional role, requiring experience OR analytical advisor role still developing higher-level expertise
  • Solve a range of problems of mild-to-moderate complexity and scope by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures
  • Exercise judgement within defined guidelines or known precedents
  • Seek guidance on unusual situations or circumstances where guidelines are unclear
  • Receive a moderate level of guidance and direction, with little or no direction day-to-day assignments
  • Work is typically reviewed by a more experienced team member before it is provided to senior leaders
  • A common career stabilization point (AKA the “full-contributor” level) for operationally focused roles, whereas analytical advisor roles at this level are building knowledge of the subject-matter area, function/BU, company, products, and customers
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Computer Science or related technical fields
  • Excellent hands-on programming skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and present complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Good understanding of business drivers and ability to articulate them clearly
  • Experience with building scalable systems and services in the cloud
