Job summary

A leading technology company in Toronto is seeking an experienced pre-sales application engineer to drive the technical pre-sales process within their North American Sales & Service Team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in technical pre-sales or consulting, particularly in Fortune 1000 accounts, along with strong skills in application development and excellent communication abilities. This position requires proficiency in UNIX and Windows NT, and knowledge of database administration. Competitive compensation is offered.

Our client, a provider of application lifecycle management has an opportunity for an experienced pre‑sales application engineer to join their North American Sales & Service Team. You are a results‑oriented team performer with the motivation and skill to drive the technical pre‑sales process.

You Have...
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant technical pre‑sales or consulting experience in Fortune 1000 accounts
  • Strong understanding of application development and workflow processes
  • Ability to understand customer issues and map high level business issues and to provide a roadmap to customer success
  • Proficiency with UNIX and Windows NT operating systems
  • Programming and scripting skills preferred
  • Experience with database administration and configuration - SQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, UML, DB2
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to white board solutions, present demos and lead Proof of Concept (PoC)
  • Assess current environments including integration and/or cross platform needs
  • Evaluate project scope to determine feasibility and resource requirements

You have outstanding presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, and a creative approach to solution selling. You should have a demonstrated record of achievement in departmental/enterprise‑wide application software sales or consulting.
