About the Role
Muskoka Nissan is looking for an experienced Pre-Owned Sales & Inventory Manager to oversee all aspects of our used vehicle operations. This role is responsible for vehicle acquisition, managing inventory health, leading the pre-owned sales team, and ensuring every unit is frontline-ready and properly marketed. The ideal candidate is hands-on, market savvy, and confident, working directly with both customers and the sales desk to maximize results.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing an acquisition plan using auctions, wholesalers, service lane equity mining, private party purchases, CRM outreach, and trade ins.
- Maintain the right vehicle mix in line with sales trends, CTM & LMDS
- Oversee all appraisals and trade ins, ensuring transparency while maximizing trade efficiency and retail retention.
- Desk deals alongside the sales team when needed to support closing opportunities and protect gross.
- Ensure vehicles are purchased, transported, reconditioned, and frontline ready within target timelines.
- Monitor aged inventory and implement pricing adjustments or exit strategies to maintain a healthy turn.
- Drive strong merchandising standards both online and on the lot, including photos, descriptions, stickers, and QR codes.
- Review and adjust pricing daily using market tools to stay competitive.
- Lead, coach, and support the pre-owned sales team to achieve monthly unit and gross profit targets.
- Partner with Service to streamline reconditioning and control costs, and with F&I to maximize finance penetration on pre-owned deals.
- Build and maintain local market presence by networking with private sellers, other dealers, and the community to create sourcing opportunities.
- Track and report on KPIs: turn rate, CTM, LMDS, recon cycle time, gross per unit, and wholesale results.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in automotive sales, with at least 3 years in a sales management role
- Strong deal desking and closing skills
- Ability to implement consistent training programs and develop staff
- Track record of delivering excellent customer satisfaction
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- High energy and positive attitude
- OMVIC license and valid driver’s license required
- PBS experience is an asset
