As a Practice Leader, Claims, you will play a key role as the highest technical reference in the field of claims. What you’ll accomplish with us

Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Support technical advisors by acting as a technical reference for teams of auto and home claims experts, particularly for complex or contentious cases.
  • Contribute to employees’ technical development by collaborating with managers to evolve claims practices and ensure decision consistency with sector objectives.
  • Interact with claims managers to ensure claims practices are optimal and meet desired standards.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, prioritizing activities, and leading their implementation to support team skill development.
  • Develop, update, and ensure compliance of claims policies, procedures, and practices in line with regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
  • Represent the sector and the company with government bodies, industry organizations (GAA, BAC, AMF), and industry committees, as well as internal committees (standards, disputes, decisions).
  • Oversee the evolution of auto and home insurance tools and forms, ensuring alignment with practices and strategic directions.
  • Implement recommendations from audits and ensure their execution to guarantee operational quality and compliance.
  • Contribute to the sector’s strategic directions by advising leadership and collaborating with managers to optimize practices and performance.
  • Manage certain operational responsibilities, such as handling complaints, approving specific payments, and validating complex decisions.
  • Be occasionally available outside normal hours to respond to urgent situations in a 24/7 service context and intervene during exceptional events, such as natural or climate‑related disasters, which may require rapid mobilization.

  • Is recognized for rigor and technical expertise in claims and compliance.
  • Stands out for the ability to influence and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates strong strategic decision‑making and complex problem‑solving skills.
  • Is recognized for leadership and as a reference point for technical teams and managers.
  • Has 15 years of experience in claims‑related roles, including at least 10 as a claims adjuster.
  • Holds a mandatory claims adjuster license.
  • Has a college diploma; a relevant university degree is an asset.
  • Experience in personnel management is an asset, as well as varied experience in claims and as a major loss field adjuster.
  • Possesses in-depth technical knowledge of insurance forms, common claims practices, and sector‑related issues.
  • Advanced level of French proficiency is required, as the role involves collaborating with French‑speaking colleagues as well as external clients on a regular basis.
