Job summary

A prominent financial services organization in Montreal seeks a Power BI Business Intelligence Analyst to support various initiatives related to Power BI. You will be responsible for providing project support, improving data visualization processes, and managing the Power BI community of practice. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Knowledge of French is required.

Overview

Part of the Data Foundation Administrative Department, the Data Virtualization and Consumption Services Department is primarily responsible for implementing capacity to support the shift to a data-driven Desjardins. It is responsible for delivering virtualization and data consumption solutions in real time that are governed, secure and efficient. As a Power BI Business Intelligence Analyst, you support dedicated clients on various initiatives related to the use of Power BI. You interact with different stakeholders working in complementary fields as you prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on the organization’s objectives and priorities. More specifically, you will be required to:

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to projects that use Power BI according to established procedures (configuration, workplace security and compliance, creation of gateway connections, granting of premium capacity, building pipelines, etc.)

  • Help IT and business teams adopt best practices for data visualization and consumption

  • Identify opportunities to improve work methods and processes and make recommendations in line with business needs and challenges

  • Help projects optimize requests to ensure optimal performance of shared capacity

  • Occasionally participate in cross-sector projects to design and develop Power BI reports

  • Participate in the management of the Power BI community of practice

  • Help update the documentation base (Confluence) for the team and internal clients

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or a related field

  • A minimum of four years of relevant business intelligence experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience with data visualization with Power BI

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications

  • Knowledge of French is required

  • Knowledge of best practices for data visualization

  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps
