Job summary

A construction firm is seeking Journeyman and Apprentice Pipefitters for a 14-day shutdown in the Fort Saskatchewan area starting September 16th. Candidates must hold a Trade Journeyperson or Apprentice Certificate and be capable of physical labor. Responsibilities

Minimum Level of Education: Journeyman Pipefitter or Registered Apprentice

Schedule: 14 Day Shutdown September 16-19th, 2025

Locations to be Supported: Fort Saskatchewan Area

Position Summary

We are seeking Journeyman & Apprentices Pipefitters for a 14 Day Shutdown starting September 16th - 2 back to back shutdowns. The successful candidate will report to the site supervisor.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on quality.
  • Calculating weight of materials and/or spools to ensure proper equipment is used.
  • Reading and interpreting client and company-supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications.
  • Measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, and assembling and installing piping, valves, and fittings.
  • Joining pipe sections/related equipment and securing position.
  • Using testing equipment to check systems for leaks.
  • Complying with ONEC’s and client safety policies and procedures.
  • Must be receptive to working with short notice for call outs, nights, and overtime upon client request.
  • Operating machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assembling machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
