Job Description and Responsibilities

Picks and sorts various materials from a moving conveyor, and assists shredder mechanics in changing the conveyors, replacing bearing shafts, and greasing.

  • Keeps work area clean and ready to go daily
  • Keeps conveyor pulleys clean
  • Reports any issues that arise immediately
  • Assists shredder mechanics during projects
  • Assists in meeting monthly production goals
  • Performs other duties as they might be assigned

Requirements

  • Completion of High School and/or equivalent
  • Must have reliable transportation as the job site is not accessible by transit
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, moderate to heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day
  • Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions, including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions
  • Willing and able to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in dust, odors, fumes, and noise
  • Ability to learn and follow directions
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Self-motivated: Initiates and takes action before being required to do so
  • Strong work ethic: uses time efficiently, works safely, and makes sure everyone around is working safely
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken
