Your opportunity:

The David L. MacIntosh Sport Medicine Clinic provides services to students, other members of the University, and the public, including, but not limited to, intercollegiate and international-calibre athletes. The staff of the Clinic provides preventive and therapeutic sport medicine services at the clinic and at athletic events. The clinic staff provide patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes certified athletic therapists, registered physical therapists, registered sport massage therapists, sport physicians, orthopedic surgeons, receptionists and a clinic manager.

Under the general supervision of the Head Therapist and the Clinic Manager, the incumbent will provide Clinical Therapy Services and Intercollegiate Team Care.

Your responsibilities
  • Providing manual physical health assessments and treatments in accordance with professional standards
  • Providing health counselling on specific injuries and general health advice
  • Developing and implementing an individualized therapeutic approach to address client needs
  • Providing on-field triage and support to medical professionals as required
  • Coordinating patient care with advanced care medical professionals
  • Recommending preventative measures and evaluating risk factors to ensure safety
  • Providing feedback to students on their performance during practical exercises based on observation
Essential Qualifications
  • Masters of Physical Therapy (MScPT) and registered Physical therapist in the province of Ontario
  • Minimum three years experience in a multi-disciplinary sport medicine clinic, and/or in a clinic specializing in musculo-skeletal health care
  • Experience in sport field care at an elite or high performance level
  • First Responder Certification
  • Strong organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are required
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential
  • Computer literacy is required.

  • Advanced Diploma of Manual & Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT)
  • Sport Physiotherapy Canada Certificate or Diploma
