Job summary

A healthcare provider in Greater Sudbury is seeking a PSW/HCA/CCA to provide direct personal support and care to patients. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities and possess a certification in a relevant program. Experience in Long Term Care or community home care is preferred. Qualifications

  • Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification that meets the appropriate standards.
  • Experience in Long Term Care or community home care setting with exposure to dementia and palliative care is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents/patients, and families.
  • Ability to provide care according to legislation and job routines.

Job Description

The PSW/HCA/CCA provides direct personal support and care to patients to fulfil the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients in accordance to polices, procedure and work routines. Assists in providing direct care such as ambulation, feeding, bathing and grooming.

For both Non- Union and Union jobs, the below description will apply:

Qualifications

  • Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification that meets the appropriate standards as required for the position
  • Experience in Long Term Care or community home care setting with exposure to dementia and palliative care is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation
  • Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents/patients and families
  • Ability to provide care in accordance with application legislation, job routines, nursing care plans, ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English
  • Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset
