Overview

The Village of Tansley Woods located in Burlington, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Personal Care Aide to join their Retirement team.

Position type: Permanent Part Time

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and meals.
  • Provide companionship and engage residents in activities to support flexible living and quality of life.
  • Work as a key member of village and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’ individual needs and advocate for participation in care decisions.
  • Identify and report changes in residents’ well-being to the Registered Practical Nurse.

Qualifications
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members
  • Understanding of the physical, mental, and emotional demands of supporting senior care
  • Assets (not required): Hold a valid PSW Certificate that is 600 hours or greater and meets the vocational standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities, the standards established by the National Association of Career Colleges, or the standards established by the Ontario Community Support Association
  • Experience working as a PSW, PCA, or equivalent based on international education and ability to acquire the above if requested; additional documents may be requested during screening
