Know our team

Nutrition International's Human Resources team is a dedicated global team of human resource experts. The team manages the day-to-day operations as well develops and implements HR programs, policies and practices that support the achievement of our corporate strategy and drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. We are a global organization with headquarters located in Ottawa, and regional offices in Africa and Asia. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for a People & Culture Coordinator to be based in Ottawa, Canada working 2 days/week from our Elgin St. office.

About You

You are someone with a college or university degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related discipline and 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. CHRP/CHRL designation or working towards completion an asset.

You have experience managing HRIS's (Dynamics 365, SharePoint) and HR Analytics and have excellent writing and overall communication skills; strong verbal skills are a requirement. You have excellent interpersonal skills and an exceptional client service approach. You have the ability to work with minimal supervision and produce results in fast paced multi-tasking and short deadline environment.

Fluency in English is required. French will be considered an asset.

About The Role

In this role you will:

  • Provide day-to-day management, support and monitoring of the HRIS.
  • Develop HRIS documentation and training to support the Regional HR Officers, HRBPs, and HR Managers
  • Manage the employee change process and support HRBPs with letters, employment confirmations, internal transfers and other employee status/profile changes
  • Employ creativity to develop more efficient business processes
  • Create and maintain all HQ employee files including all staff working outside of the Africa and Asia regions
  • Generate and produce global HR metrics, data and reports as required
  • Initiate the onboarding and orientation process for new employees, providing HRIS training and working with Payroll, Facilities, IT, Budgeting & Compliance, and hiring managers to provide a seamless and positive onboarding experience for new employees
  • Manage staff re-integration which includes coordination with various units for effective re-orientation of staff and ensuring accommodation support as needed
  • Facilitate the off-boarding process for terminated employees which includes executing exit interviews
  • Organize and facilitate quarterly orientation sessions of various units for new hires globally
  • Manage leave requests and employee leave of absences (LOA) related to pregnancy/parental leave, short term and long-term disability leaves and employee year-end vacation accruals
  • Collaborate with Finance as well as with external vendors to review and enhance global wellness benefits, perks, and insurance programs
  • Respond to employee queries and resolve issues related to the Canadian and International Group benefits programs
  • Update P&C policies to ensure compliance with employment legislation, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) best practices and NI policy standards
  • Update occupational health and safety standards, policies and plans in accordance with Ontario legislation
  • Assist in the management of the JHSC to ensure legislative compliance including overseeing the training of JHSC, conducting of monthly inspections, organizing quarterly meetings and ensuring action items are completed
