Position Details

Position: Full-Time Security Guard

Site: Peel Memorial Hospital - 20 Lynch Street, Brampton

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours: Rotating Continental (0700 - 1900 / 1900 - 0700)

Payrate: $20.69 / hour (based on leveling system)

Internal Posting Date: September 22, 2025

Internal Closing Date: September 26, 2025

External Closing Date: October 6, 2025

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
  • Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
  • Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
  • Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
  • Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
  • Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
  • Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
Prerequisites / Qualifications
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Covid Vaccine two doses
  • Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin\'s UoF/MOAB Certification program prior to onboarding to meet the position requirements
  • Note: The UoF/MOAB Certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; Paladin will cover the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
