About the Opportunity
  • Overseeing day to day payroll processing. Verify transactions and calculations processed by Payroll Clerks.
  • Provide technical guidance requiring application and interpretation of data, facts, procedures and policies with the Payroll and HRIS system.
  • Recommend potential system modifications. Act as liaison between payroll and the system to ensure documentation of system functions, capabilities, and to facilitate the training of payroll staff. Continuously monitor, recommend, and implement process improvement.
  • Performs payroll related account reconciliations. Researches and advises payroll team members concerning proper accounting treatment of complex transactions. Perform periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external or internal auditors. Upload various earning & deduction codes to the system by using pre-defined procedures.
  • Prepare reports for external & internal customers by creating or updating access queries as needed. Assist with testing payroll system releases & updates by developing, updating & verifying test scenarios and report on results. Assist with year-end T4/T4A processing.
About You
  • 3-5 years of relevant payroll experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Payroll and HRIS Systems.
  • Requires expertise in complex payroll/benefits and accounting functions, as well as significant and progressive payroll experience.
  • Intermediate accounting knowledge needed to perform journal entries, payroll account reconciliations, fiscal year end accrual, reallocation of costs.
  • Sound judgment, excellent problem-solving skills, attention to details, accuracy, and strong numerical proficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal, client service, collaboration, communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet all deadlines.
  • Strong Computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Pay Range

$35 - $37 / hour
