At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for a Patient Information Clerk to support our Admitting department.

Job Outline

The Patient Information Clerk is responsible for handling all aspects related to the tracking and reporting of admissions, discharges and transfers of all patients including data collection, bed assignment, compilation of daily census and maintaining the wait list. The information entered by the Patient Information Clerk into the ADT system initiates the flow of patient data through interfaces to clinical, financial and information systems database.

Education & Qualifications
  • Completed a 2-year post‑secondary certification in a related field (e.g., Health Records, Medical Technician).
  • Certificate in medical terminology is required.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a hospital environment with proven understanding of the patient registration process, including balancing of inpatient beds and census verification, is required.
  • Minimum two years of experience with computerized patient information systems in a hospital setting is required.
  • The ability to enter data accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply admission policies, procedures and relevant legislation during day‑to‑day operation in the Admitting department.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills dealing with client population, families, staff, physicians and personnel of referring facilities. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (testing will be administered).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, and is a team player.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory job performance and attendance history required.
Salary

Minimum - $26.113/hour; Maximum - $28.041/hour
