Reporting to the Chief Maintenance Engineer – Mobile Maintenance, the Parts Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functionality and performance of our fleet of mobile equipment. This position is responsible for inventory and distribution of parts. The role will be in collaboration with maintenance, planning, procurement, and suppliers’ teams to ensure the effective maintenance of availability of the mining fleet and site assets. The Parts Technician role is to also ensure that, the right parts are available when needed, minimizing equipment downtime and supporting the smooth functioning of mining operations.

Location: Blackwater Mine site

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records, monitor stock levels, and reorder supplies to prevent shortages. This includes receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming parts.
• Properly store, segregate, and protect materials, parts and supplies.
• Follow proper procedures when receiving, stocking, and issuing of parts, along with performing inventory counts and audits.
• Fulfill parts requests from field and shop technicians for both planned and unplanned maintenance.
• Organize and stage parts by job, project, or outage in the appropriate areas for technicians. Coordinate the delivery of parts.
• Liaise with maintenance supervisors, technicians, and planners to communicate parts order status and requirements.
• Demonstrates knowledge of supply chain process flows.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of inventory items.
• Performs analysis of unused parts and provides accurate reporting.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform other duties as assigned in relation to Planning and Pronto system.
• Operate forklift a bonus.
• Collection of operator Pre-Op checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy mobile equipment (HME) manufacturers common in mining, such as Caterpillar is a significant asset.
• Experience in warehouse, maintenance support, or a similar role, 2-3 years minimum.
• A minimum of 1 year experience working in parts for a mine site is a bonus.
• Experience using Pronto.
• Mechanical trade/technician background is considered an asset.
• Previous experience in a parts or logistics role, ideally within a heavy industrial or mining environment.
• Knowledge of OHS and mining regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• A valid driver license and a driver’s abstract.
