Overview

Part-time Security Guard at Met Hospital. Hours: 2000-0800 Week 1 - Friday; Week 2 - Wednesday and Thursday. Pay Rate: $22.07. Posting Date: 1/29/2026. Internal Closing Date: 2/4/2026. External Closing Date: 2/20/2026.

Site Description

Windsor Regional Hospital’s Met Campus provides emergency care, inpatient services, diagnostics, and surgical units in a high-traffic medical environment. Security guards manage access points, monitor visitor flow, patrol sensitive areas, and support emergency response to ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors.

Job Description
  • Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations. Provide Use of Force/Restraint as required and directed under the Mental Health Act
  • Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
  • Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
  • Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
  • Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
Prerequisites
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Diploma in Police Foundations, Protection Security & Investigations, Border Services, or Criminology is required
  • Covid Vaccine two doses
  • Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin\'s UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Note: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a prerequisite; however, Paladin will cover all costs with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
