Overview

Wakefield Canada Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a full time Packaging Operator reporting to the Production Manager. The Packaging Operator will operate packaging and filling lines; drive forklift; receive and ship materials; perform all QC checks & inspections; record all documents and results accurately and timely. Your first priority is to perform all activities safely and assure all HSSE & SOP (standard operating procedures) are followed at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate Packaging and Filling Lines
  • Close off Work Orders accurate and timely in MS Dynamics AX
  • Check and record fill weights
  • Ensure proper set up of data coding equipment
  • Follow Flush SOP and Matrix
  • Enter accurate and timely data in the process monitor
  • Encompass Quality Control culture
  • Be responsible for spill containment and spill clean up
  • Safely operate Forklifts (Electric and Propane counter Balance, and Reach trucks)
  • Forklift operation will support all Packaging lines and Receiving, follow 5s Methodology, Offload when required materials outside, Transfer goods between Plant and Warehouse
  • Pick and process customer orders and stock transfers
  • Participate in warehouse control and inventory cycle counting
  • Ship & Receive (Receives all inbound materials including QC testing; Ships outbound materials; Performs & Documents Quality control testing, enter all data into MS Dynamics AX receiving)
  • Decant leaking / obsolete product & rework of product
  • Inspect Bottles & labels on packaging lines
  • Bottle packing and bottle dumping
  • Label pails, kegs, drums, totes
  • Maintain a safe work environment; attend safety and regulatory compliance seminars / training
Qualifications
  • We are looking for someone who : Is Self-motivated, conscientious, and able to work well with others
  • Is able to manage workloads in a busy work environment and flexible to change
  • Is in good physical condition to adequately manage physical aspects of tasks
  • Is proficient in MS Suite, MS Outlook, MS Dynamics AX and applications required to perform role responsibilities
  • Has Minimum of 2 years work related experience
  • Has previous WHMIS training and or experience
  • Has Lock Out – Tag Out training
  • Has Lift truck experience with valid lift truck license or ability to obtain
  • Has good reading comprehension, writing and mathematical skills
