The Opportunity

Flocor Inc., a subsidiary of Deschenes Group Inc., is a leader in the industrial pipe, valve, and fitting distribution industry. We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative for our Office and Warehouse in Quebec City, QC. The successful candidate will maximize sales within Quebec City and surrounding areas, generating new and maintaining existing accounts. The role involves developing, servicing, and maintaining our customer account base to meet various sales targets.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in industrial, mechanical, and fire protection products. The incumbent will cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships. Bilingual proficiency in French and English and computer literacy are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with key decision-makers by making calls and attending industry events
  • Resolve customer issues by liaising with inside sales, credit, and warehouse teams
  • Implement follow-up strategies for projects and ongoing activities
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales targets and provide accurate sales forecasts
  • Maintain communication with customers for service, quotes, and dispute resolution
  • Develop and service existing and new customers to build long-term relationships
  • Prepare sales forecasts and review results with the Regional Manager regularly
  • Plan territory, calls, and routes to maximize sales opportunities
  • Identify and acquire new customer accounts
  • Monitor client creditworthiness and report irregularities
  • Participate in sales events and trade shows as required
  • Assist on the order desk as needed
  • Stay current with company products
  • Prepare and generate reports as required

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience in customer service or sales in a related industry, preferably with knowledge of mechanical/industrial pipe, valves, and fittings
  • Proven skills in business development
  • College Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering Technologist (CET), or related field
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints are assets
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical product aspects
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web applications
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, with multitasking abilities
  • Ability to manage and prioritize goals independently
  • Willingness to travel daily and occasionally overnight, within and outside Canada
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
