Guidewire Cloud Platform

Overview

As an Outbound Product Manager working on the Guidewire Cloud Platform, you will build products that enable Guidewire customers to develop, build, test, deploy, and manage any Guidewire application in the cloud with ease. This role focuses on defining the business strategy and requirements for the user management product area of the Guidewire Cloud Platform, including capabilities such as RBAC, SSO, SCIM integration, federated identity management, and auditability of user actions across the platform. The role also involves CI / CD experience (managing CI pipelines, code repository, testing frameworks, managing environments, virtual machines, deployments, etc.). Our cross-functional product teams drive vision, roadmap, discovery, execution, and delivery of products that enable Insurers to innovate quickly, easily, and at scale.

The platform product area (GWCP) is a relatively new part of Guidewire that is rapidly growing to meet customer and business demand. This role will have the opportunity to strongly influence the product and team, and to develop new strategies.

Guidewire’s culture is defined by integrity, collegiality, and rationality, where each team member is valued for who they are and what they bring. Our mission every single day is to learn, share, and collaborate while delivering the best product experience for our customers.

The role requires working from the office 10 days per month (every Tuesday and Wednesday, and Monday-Thursday during the in-office week of each month).

Responsibilities
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the cloud ecosystem that enables Guidewire applications, the market, competition, and user requirements.
  • Work with Customers to understand their needs, business drivers, and to identify opportunities with a focus on the user management aspects of the platform.
  • Seek opportunities to generate new revenue streams for the Guidewire Cloud Platform with a focus on platform features supporting various aspects of user management (including different access control mechanisms, user and access management self-service, identity provider systems’ integrations, identity information exchange standards, etc) and / or CI / CD (managing CI pipelines, code repository, testing frameworks, managing environments, virtual machines, deployments, etc.).
  • Work collaboratively with other Product Managers, Go To Market, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, UX, Operations, Enablement, and other Business teams to define and maximize the value of our solutions.
  • Envision smart solutions to complex problems while collaborating as needed across regions, product areas, and functions.
  • Work with Engineering and development-facing Product Managers to build and communicate roadmaps and requirements to teams and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Provide input and participate in quarterly planning meetings.
  • Bring clarity and focus to ambiguous problems, ensuring the team moves forward with confidence.
Qualifications
  • What we’re looking for in this role : An Outbound Product Manager who enjoys working directly with customers to understand their needs and define functional requirements for how our platform services them.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, positive team player who is curious and has excellent communication skills with experience in working across global time zones.
  • Self-starter with an owner and problem-solving mindset, not afraid of taking initiative and driving solutions.
  • Experience working directly with customers, sales, marketing, and other customer-facing roles.
  • Experience with translating customer needs into product requirements.
  • Experience with user management concepts focusing on cloud and SaaS (Software as a Service) aspects (access control, identity providers, identity information exchange mechanisms, etc).
  • Knowledge base in cloud technology concepts, including workflows, tools, and architecture.
  • Experience driving a discovery process, including capturing data, analysis, forming a hypothesis, and testing.
  • Experience working with strategic product roadmaps, working on cross-functional teams, measuring outcomes, and delivering results.
  • Excellent English speaking and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to travel 10-25% of the time as and when necessary.
  • Bachelor's degree in technology or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of Product Management experience
