About us

The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.

What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.

We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.

We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

The work area

This role sits within the Corporate Strategy and Performance Directorate which is part of the Advisory Services business unit. The Organisational Development team is a small, dynamic team focused on developing and implementing values aligned engagement, learning and organisational development (OD) programs that enhance culture, and performance and capability.

The opportunity

Be part of a passionate team involved in supporting the provision of Treasury and Finance's specific training to build capabilities, cultural competency, future leaders and leadership capability, cultural development, and strategic pulse checks.

Some of the exciting work, initiatives and projects you will be involved in includes :

  • Graduates and Vacation Programs – creating opportunities for students and graduates to launch their career in the public sector.
  • Learning and Development Strategies – ensuring the department fosters a continuous learning culture and providing strategies and programs to build a capable, agile and future ready workforce.
  • Health & Wellbeing - supporting employees in improving and maintaining health and wellbeing.

We have one Permanent Full-Time position available for filling. We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic, and an excellent communicator to join our fantastic team and help make a real difference for Western Australia.

Due to the departments shutdown over the Christmas / New Year period, this selection process will be finalised in early 2026. Interviews for this role will be held in the new year.
