Job description

CDC Foods is a national redistribution and logistics partner serving both Canadian and international food manufacturers. With strategically located warehouses across Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec, CDC provides seamless access to Canada’s foodservice and retail markets.

SUMMARY

The Operations & Logistics Manager will lead CDC’s national warehousing and logistics operations, ensuring best-in-class performance across our multi-client redistribution network. This is a pivotal role in CDC’s next phase of growth. The successful candidate will combine operational excellence with strategic insight, building structure, processes, and culture that position CDC for sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee daily operations across CDC’s national warehouse network.
  • Manage redistribution and consolidation activities for multiple food manufacturers and distributors.
  • Establish and maintain SOPs for receiving inventory, order fulfillment, and outbound shipping.
  • Drive efficiency, accuracy, and cost optimization in warehouse and logistics performance.
  • Managing customer service, purchasing and inventory replenishment activities to maintain optimal stock levels and service continuity.
  • Lead supply reviews as part of the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, and operational constraints.
Logistics & Transportation
  • Manage transportation planning and carrier relationships across national and regional routes.
  • Optimize load consolidation, route planning, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure all transportation activities meet CFIA and cross-border compliance standards.
  • Oversee customs, import documentation, and bilingual labeling coordination where applicable.
Regulatory Compliance & Oversight
  • Ensures adherence to CFIA federal standards for international and inter-provincial trade while maintaining compliance with Provincial/Territorial acts governing local food processing, retail safety, and food handler certification.
  • Ensure warehouse and transportation partners comply with food safety programs (HACCP, Food Safety etc.).
  • Lead product recall readiness, lot tracking, and temperature-controlled handling protocols.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Sales, Brand Managers, and Finance teams to align supply chain operations with customer and promotional plans.
  • Support product launches, seasonal programs, and volume forecasts.
  • Provide clear operational data and reporting to support decision-making and business development.
Systems & Reporting
  • Utilize WMS tools to manage inventory, order flow, and performance analytics.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs: order accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and cost efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement system improvements to enhance visibility and control.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Build, train, and lead a high-performing operations and logistics team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key leader in CDC’s organizational evolution.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain (food industry preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, including training, coaching, and performance oversight.
  • Proven track record managing national or multi-location logistics networks.
  • Strong understanding of CFIA, HACCP, import/export processes, and bilingual compliance.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams through change and building scalable systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration
  • Strong data-tracking and reporting skills (Excel, Power Bi, Inventory Software)
  • Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.
