Purpose of Role :

Reporting to the Motion Metrics Global Head, the Director of Operations oversees all manufacturing: global field service and support; safety, health, and environment (SHE); sourcing; planning; procurement; warehousing; continuous improvement and facilities management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to zero harm behaviors in support of a world-class safety culture for the team.
  • Leadership: Direct leadership and owner of Motion Metrics operations and team management. Manages the Motion Metrics Operations function, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Global Services.
  • Business Performance Management: Accountable for Motion Metrics performance metrics for manufacturing, sourcing and purchasing, global services, and SHE. Manage and report on the performance of Motion Metrics Operations and set objectives for direct reports.
  • P&L: Achieves financial objectives by forecasting needs, preparing a budget, and managing expenditures.
  • Strategy & Planning: Sets and implements the Motion Metrics Operations Strategy including contingency planning. Ensure the strategy is communicated and adopted by the team.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identify and manage stakeholders, addressing their needs and concerns by developing stakeholder engagement plans with regional sales and service teams, R&D, products and operations.
  • Resilience: Support customers and teams in high-pressure, customer-facing mining environments. Provide great service while managing expectations; often act as the face of Weir Motion Metrics in front of customers.
Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or similar applicable field from a four-year college or university.
  • Ten years of progressive experience in business, operations, manufacturing, or technical sales leadership with substantial P&L responsibility.
  • Ability to balance process discipline with flexibility as Weir scales; capable of implementing manufacturing operations strategy and reading detailed financial statements.
  • Proven ability to share and engage others in the vision of the business.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to create short, mid, and long-term strategies.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to meet critical metrics.

Compensation : CAD $150,000 to $190,000 (depending on fit)
