POSITION SUMMARY

We are hiring for a new position to support our Corporate departments in Toronto and Ottawa – Ontario Corporate Services Manager.

The successful candidate will combine deep transactional expertise with a proactive approach to process optimization, knowledge management, and culture-building initiatives. You will work closely with partners, associates, knowledge management, legal project management, and operations to drive quality, efficiency, and a positive team dynamic.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Manager Responsibilities
  • Provides accountability for corporate paraprofessional service delivery
  • Monitors billable and non‑billable hours at a local level to support increased productivity and improve overall paraprofessional utilization
  • Leads Ontario‑wide problem solving and drives alignment of work products, processes, and standards
  • Manages the daily operations of workflow, including work distribution, delegation, prioritization, and resource planning, and the quality control measures of the work product
  • Takes initiative to evaluate the efficiency of certain work processes and procedures and makes suggestions to improve quality and efficiency
  • Mentors paraprofessionals, associates and student lawyers
  • Monitors and provides feedback on paraprofessional performance evaluations
  • Contributes to annual compensation decisions through informed, region‑specific insights
  • Participates in and helps drive various initiatives within the Ontario offices
  • Collaborates with Local Practice Group Leads and partner liaisons for paraprofessionals
  • Works with the National Manager of Paraprofessional Services, Corporate & Tax, and national teams toadah implement procedural and technology changes effectively within the team, and communicates two‑way feedback to ensure optimal functionality and adoption of changes
  • Participates in recruitment and training within the Corporate Services Team
  • Coordinates vacation schedules, leave requests and onsite/offsite office attendance
  • Develops and supports a positive department image and culture
  • Oversees the entity management system, including protocols to sustain integrity in the platform
  • Handles additional administrative responsibilities includingкош collaborating with third‑party vendor accounts, and interacting with the finance group
  • Performs additional administrative responsibilities as needed
Paraprofessional Responsibilities
  • Completes all levels of corporate paraprofessional work assignments and legal duties under the supervision of lawyers
  • Prepares corporate documentation relating to incorporations, organizations, amendments, continuances, amalgamations, extra‑provincial registrations, compliance, dissolutions, share and asset purchases, corporate reorganizations, etc.
  • Manages and maintains updated corporate database and corporate records
  • Works with lawyers in all Dentons Canada offices to attend to OBCA and CBCA transactions, filings, and registration equivalents
  • Reviews and analyzes corporate minute book records and recommends the appropriate actions to update records and rectify deficiencies, including drafting the required documentation
  • Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards
  • Handles general corporate work, including government filings, and responds to inquiries from within and outside the firm
REQUIREMENTS
  • 10+ years of experience as a corporate paraprofessional with progressive responsibilities
  • iculture 8+ years of experience managing and leading a paraprofessional team
  • Ability to build a positive team environment and collaborative culture
  • Expertise in handling all levels of corporate paraprofessional assignments
  • Experience working in a multi‑office setting is an asset
  • In‑depth knowledge of legal procedures, statutes, and regulations applicable to commercial and corporate law
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all stakeholders professionally
  • Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail

The target salary range for this position is $130,000 – $150,000, commensurate with the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Dentons is committed to equitable and competitive compensation. This target range falls within our internal salary ranges, which are based on comparable roles in the external market.
