Onex is an investor and asset manager that invests capital on behalf of Onex shareholders and clients across the globe. The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Risk Analyst to join Onex as part of the Risk Management team in our Toronto Office. This is a full‑time, permanent position and will report to the Managing Director, Credit – Risk Management. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with risk leadership & senior investment professionals, take on increasing amounts of responsibilities, and be actively engaged in the investment decision process.

What you will do:
  • Manage data requests from Client & Product Solutions (CPS), pulling together data from our database and other sources (Bloomberg, etc.) and format to specifications from CPS
  • Monitor the daily reports generated from Bloomberg finance into PowerBI and identifying any missing data, calculation errors, discrepancies, etc.
  • Assist in producing weekly and monthly risk reports under supervision
  • Investigate cross‑asset relationships, and map how they change throughout an economic cycle
  • Fulfill tasks assigned by other members of the team that are part of larger analysis and studies we are producing
What you bring:
  • Data analysis skills
  • Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, C#, Java or C++, etc.)
  • Strong Excel skills, experience in VBA or other programming languages will be helpful
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with investment professionals and build relationships across teams
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg is an asset
  • Interest in financial markets and having a quant mindset
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong academic standing
