Job summary

A community pharmacy in Eastern Ontario is seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to enhance customer care. This full-time role requires strong communication skills and a license in Pharmacy. The ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of experience and will work on-site, contributing to improved patient experiences in a supportive environment. The starting salary ranges from $55 to $60, based on experience.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in pharmacy.
  • Geriatric Pharmacy Specialty Certification (BCGP) or PharmD preferred.
  • Experience with compliance packaged medication for LTC is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent patient care and answer common medical questions.
  • Train patients on proper use of medical devices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to review drug quality.

Medical Arts Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy with two locations in Cornwall.

We provide pharmaceutical services to individuals living in the community, residents in long-term care, retirement homes, and continuing care facilities.

Applicants must possess :

  • A degree in Pharmacy and a license in Ontario, and be in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additionally, French would be an asset.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, as well as have a collaborative approach to working with all other pharmacy team staff, and healthcare professionals
  • A strong desire to deliver excellent patient care in an empathetic and warm manner : providing answers to questions pertinent to common medical needs (including minor ailments), Counsel and train patients on proper use of medical devices and supplies, and partner with healthcare professionals to review the quality and effectiveness of drugs, providing advice on usage and observed side effects.
  • An ability to work efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy
  • An understanding and interest in providing services under the expanded scope of practice
  • Experience in providing clinical knowledge and dispensing compliance packaged medication to Nursing Homes and LTC is an asset.
  • Experience using Kroll, Point Click Care, E-Mar is an asset
  • Geriatric Pharmacy Specialty Certification (BCGP) or PharmD with at least 2 years LTC experience is preferred but not a requirement.
  • Job Type : Full-time (4-5 days per week) Experience : 2+ years in pharmacy Work Location : On site(option to work remotely under special circumstances) Starting Salary : $55-$60 (based on previous experience) The management team at Medical Arts would welcome meeting qualified individuals who believe they would be a “good fit.” We have a tight-knit staff and a small business feel.
