A community health service provider in Ontario seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive primary health care for Indigenous communities. The ideal candidate will have a Master's in Nursing and several years of relevant experience. Work includes providing culturally safe care and requires collaboration within an interdisciplinary team. Nurse Practitioner (NP-PHC) – Full-Time Permanent
Locations: Garden River First Nation and Thessalon First Nation
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm
Salary Range: $115,198 – $125,880

We work with our 11 First Nation community partners and one Indigenous Friendship Centre in the provision of primary health care, traditional healing, mental wellness and addictions, home and community support services, and health promotion services.
Under the direction of the Director of Comprehensive Primary Health Care, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for delivering primary health care services for Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services Inc., specifically for the communities of Garden River First Nation and Thessalon First Nation. Working within an interdisciplinary team, the Nurse Practitioner provides client-centered, comprehensive care to individuals and their families. This role is essential to ensuring accessible, holistic, and culturally appropriate care.
Given the traditional practices of Indigenous people, from time-to-time exposure to smoke from the burning of sacred medicines such as tobacco, sweet grass, sage or cedar may occur. Accessibility accommodations will be available upon request. An offer of employment will be conditional upon an acceptable vulnerable sector police records check. Hiring of Indigenous People will be given preference, as allowed under Section 14 of the Ontario Human Rights Code – Special Programs.
