A healthcare provider in Alberta is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for locum opportunities across rural locations. This role involves providing comprehensive health services, including acute and emergency care coverage. We have exciting in-person locum opportunities available across various rural locations, within Alberta, for Nurse Practitioners (NPs)! Be part of a vital initiative to fill service gaps by providing temporary coverage within a rural emergency department as a full-scope NP. Prior experience in acute care and emergency care is essential, as you will play a crucial role in addressing the healthcare needs of the rural communities. Coverage of rural emergencies frequently includes coverage of medical inpatient units and affiliated long term care beds. On-call peer support is available whenever you need it. We are seeking NPs who possess strong leadership skills and excel in interprofessional collaboration ensuring safe, seamless coordination approach to care delivery. This position offers additional incentives, including: a premium payment per hour for hours worked, reimbursement for travel costs, a per diem allowance, meal allowance and accommodation provided by AHS. As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Evidence to practice both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. Minimum of 3 years of Nurse Practitioner clinical experience in an acute care setting (within the last 5 years). Ability to provide care across the lifespan. Practices trauma-informed, patient centered care approach. Current ACLS and PALS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Emergency Nurse Certification-ENC(c) or equivalent. Emergency Medicine Education: Adult EM Bootcamp/Hippo Education or equivalent i.e. General Emergency Medicine skills-GEMS. Pediatric experience. Previous rural and/or emergency nursing experience. Self-directed with strong. teamwork and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Familiarity with Connect Care is beneficial.
