We are looking for a Nuclear Fuel Lab Technician (Gauge Technician) for our Peterborough, Ontario site.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary Diploma/Certificate in relevant technical field.
  • Basic Metrology experience in the use, calibration, and maintenance of precision metrology equipment (i.e. Plug gauges, micrometers, verniers, gauge blocks, dial/test indicators, height gauges, digital microscopes, surface plates, sine bars, and shadow graphs).
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Access
  • Experience creating purchase requisitions and coordinating services with external vendors and suppliers.
  • Experience in Nuclear industry or similar regulated environments.
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical drawings and measurement specifications.
  • Ultrasonic Testing Certification, CGSB Level 1 or higher.
  • Experience with Ultrasonic Testing (immersion systems) is an asset.
The Position
  • Performing dimensional and visual inspection of nuclear fuel components using calibrated gauges and tools.
  • Performing calibration, verification, and maintenance of gauges and fixtures used in production and lab settings.
  • Conducting Ultrasonic Testing using immersion systems and reporting results per quality system procedures.
  • Supporting the creation of purchase requisitions and procurement of new/replacement gauges and metrology equipment.
  • Liaising with vendors and suppliers regarding technical specifications and equipment servicing.
  • Supporting Engineering, QA, and Production teams with measurement expertise and data analysis.
  • Maintaining records and documentation in accordance with QA and metrology standards.
  • Performing cross-functional duties as required.
You will be required to demonstrate the following competencies:
  • Ability to deliver training on measurement tools and calibration procedures.
  • Technical and mechanical aptitude for precision measurement systems.
  • Effective communication skills to interface with suppliers, engineers, and shop personnel.
  • Focus on quality, safety, and procedural compliance.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and be self-directed.
  • Ability to make decisions within prescribed boundaries of job function.
  • Ability to work shifts and weekends as required.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $83,164.38 and $102,550.50 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
