Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Night Attendant is responsible for responding to calls, greeting visitors, answering inquiries professionally, cleaning, and sanitizing common areas.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the front desk courteously and efficiently;
  2. Answer calls and respond to inquiries positively and professionally;
  3. Redirect calls and take clear messages when needed;
  4. Greet, assist, and direct visitors;
  5. Handle administrative and introductory accounting duties;
  6. Manage internal and external mail processes;
  7. Coordinate packages and courier pickups;
  8. Schedule and book meeting rooms;
  9. Update contact and distribution lists;
  10. Replace staff as necessary;
  11. Respond immediately to emergency systems;
  12. Report maintenance or repair needs via Maintenance Care system;
  13. Be accessible and responsive to team and management;
  14. Keep the reception area clean, safe, and organized;
  15. Maintain harmonious relationships with residents, families, and staff;
  16. Report resident concerns or complaints to management;
  17. Assist with small projects and administrative tasks;
  18. Provide evening security and emergency response when required;
  19. Clean and sanitize areas according to schedule using proper methods;
  20. Perform laundry duties including washing, treating, and folding;
  21. Operate cleaning and floor care equipment;
  22. Maintain cleanliness of floors, furniture, fixtures, walls, and windows;
  23. Manage garbage and recycling transport;
  24. Follow residence policies, safety rules, and procedures;
  25. Document activities as required;
  26. Respect and promote Residents' Rights and Responsibilities;
  27. Attend training and staff meetings;
  28. Participate in Quality Improvement programs;
  29. Perform additional duties as assigned;
  30. Uphold organizational values of ethics, morality, and integrity.

Required Education, Credentials, and Experience

  1. Excellent communication skills in English, demonstrating empathy and patience;
  2. Ability to provide constructive feedback daily;
  3. Knowledge of institutional cleaning techniques;
  4. Experience in commercial, residential, or healthcare cleaning and laundry preferred;
  5. Reception experience is an asset;
  6. Professional telephone manner;
  7. Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines;
  8. Highly organized and detail-oriented;
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email preferred;
  10. Ability to work independently;
  11. Current CPR and First Aid certifications;
  12. Smart Choices Responsible Service Certification (Serving It Safe);
  13. Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS) within the last 6 months.
