Start Date: January 19 2026

Salary: CAD $165 K. Eligible for periodic salary increases and performance‑based incentive bonuses in accordance with company policy.

Roles

Join the Core Inventory & Listing experience team. We seek dedicated and creative MTS‑1 senior backend software engineers (level adjustable for candidate’s skills and experience) to architect, craft and develop innovative, highly performant, available software across various device form factors that help business sellers worldwide to on‑board, handle inventory & listing and grow their business on the largest global marketplace.

Responsibilities
  • Lead major projects and features from design phase to coding, testing, deployment and support.
  • Own functional domains to craft cross data center distributed, fault tolerant, highly available and performant web applications using software architecture design, OOA/D skills and outstanding analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes. Identify project technical risks and make recommendations to mitigate.
  • Use deep technical proven experience of company systems and applications, covering applications, services, systems, or frameworks.
  • Demonstrate initiative and attention to detail during daily operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineers, product managers, designers, and QA engineers.
  • Encourage peers with high‑quality, hands‑on technical contributions.
  • Mentor and lead junior engineers in software engineering methodology, design, and best practices.
  • Consistently produce high‑quality software with focus on unit testing, regular code reviews, and continuous integration.
  • Uphold high standards in quality and operational excellence.
  • Develop comprehensive technical documentation and presentations to clearly communicate architectural decisions and design options.
  • Effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities within the team based on individual skills and workload.
  • Lead development of prototypes and proof‑of‑concept implementations for new technologies or approaches.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree plus 8 or more years of experience; or MS in Computer Science plus 6 or more years of hands‑on experience developing highly scalable distributed platforms and services and internet‑scale web application.
  • Highly experienced in application development in JAVA and Kotlin and related frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and stream processing platforms such as Kafka and Flink.
  • Experienced in Oracle ADF 12c Framework, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Proficiency in J2EE, SOAP, SOA services, design patterns, OOA/D, data structures, XML, REST, JSON, and internet protocols.
  • Proficiency in Scala and solid base in data structures, algorithms and strong understanding of multithreading, synchronization, concurrent programming; deep architectural understanding of system design and leading projects to completion.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in NoSQL data technology such as Mongo, ElasticSearch and related toolset.
  • Full stack development experience in Spring Boot and Hadoop framework.
  • Experienced in the Scrum model of development.
  • Experienced in retail and logistics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in applications.
  • Experience driving architecture discussions, producing well‑documented design docs, participating in design and code reviews, coding and unit testing of fault‑tolerant applications.
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals. Experience in non‑functional skills such as security, load and performance tests, accessibility, site speed optimization, cross‑browser /cross‑platform UX design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
